The upcoming 2020 Spring Meeting will take place in the Chateau de Namur on Saturday march 21st, and focus on two central topics in modern days hand surgery practice:
- office WALANT surgery, with its corollary echosurgery, allowing those amongst us who wish to do so to perform selected high quality procedures in their private practice, and
- emergency care, which on the other side tends to take place in more specialised hospital centers where the microsurgical skills and knowledge can be trained on a daily basis, but is at the core of our specialty.
Those seemingly antagonist faces of our everyday practice are in fact interconnected and apt to take advantage of each other, economically as well as qualitatively.
Several high-profile speakers from Belgium and abroad have been invited to share their knowledge and experience on these topics. Two masterclasses and two participative round tables will tackle state-of-the-art fingertip reconstruction, nerve reconstruction, flexor tendon repair and rehabilitation, and limb replantation. We will also include one hour of radioprotection focused on practical everyday x-ray use.
Original papers submission in those fields will be very welcome to complete this setting.
